MK-EB C-Type Control Valve

The MK-EB C-type control valve not only inherits the advantage of high rangeability from V-notch ball core eccentric ball valves but also incorporates the robust and durable characteristics of the D-type control valve, achieved through the use of heavy-duty bearings, sealing rings, and a valve body specifically designed for the D-type. This combination of features enables the C-type control valve to achieve a balance between corrosion resistance and precise pressure control when regulating gaseous and liquid media. Its full-bore, straight-through flow path design enhances flow capacity for gases, steam, liquids, and fibrous slurries. This flanged valve utilizes a streamlined flow path, sturdy and durable metal trim components, and incorporates a self-aligning seat.

This design allows the MK-EB rotary control valve to combine the durability of linear motion valves with the high efficiency of rotary valves. Compared to globe valves, it offers advantages such as a more compact size, lighter weight, greater capacity, and a wider rangeability. It is an economical regulating valve choice for applications involving low pressure drops and high flow rates, and is well-suited for controlling high-viscosity fluids, polymers, fibrous materials, and fluids containing solid particle impurities.

The MK-EB series of eccentric rotary control valves are equipped with pneumatic or manual actuators independently manufactured by Markco, providing reliable fluid control for numerous industrial control applications.

Product Features:

• Easy Installation: The integral body flanges can mate with piping flanges of various pressure classes, meeting diverse piping requirements. The flanges help eliminate exposed piping flange bolts, reduce alignment and installation time, and improve valve installation reliability and piping integrity.

• Flexible Operation: Its self-aligning seat and durable V-notch ball core allow for flow in either direction, achieving tight shut-off regardless of flow direction. Reverse flow helps keep downstream turbulence away from the sealing surfaces. The 90° rotation of the plug moves it out of the high-velocity flow zone, helping to reduce plug wear. Both full-bore and reduced-bore valves can be fitted with dedicated seats and retaining rings, facilitating easy configuration to meet changing flow capacity requirements.

• High Flow Capacity: Due to its full-bore, straight-through flow path design, its flow capacity exceeds that of many traditional globe valves and other eccentric rotary valves.

• Unibody Construction: The valve body is a single-piece casting. Leakage at body gaskets due to pipeline stress is eliminated.

• Long Seal Life: The eccentric plug’s opening path minimizes contact between the plug and seat during opening, reducing seat wear and friction. When the plug rotates into the seat, they self-adjust to form a tight fit. The S31600 (316 Stainless Steel), R30006 (Alloy 6), or VTC (Ceramic) full-bore seats feature two sealing surfaces, allowing for quick and easy reversal to reduce downtime.

• Erosion Resistance: This valve offers excellent erosion resistance. The streamlined flow path, robust components, and variety of erosion-resistant trim materials enable outstanding performance and long service life in erosive conditions.

• Sour Service Applicability: Available trim and bolting materials are suitable for sour service applications.

• Reliable Performance: The seat self-aligns, self-conforms, and dynamically centers on the plug, contributing to long cycle life. Sealed metal bearings help prevent particle accumulation and stem seizure in demanding service conditions.

• Robust Construction: The metal or ceramic seats and plugs are strong and durable. The substantial plug mass reduces cantilever bending at the bushing, achieving high sealing class ratings without requiring thin, flexible sealing rings. The increased stem diameter, combined with robust internals, effectively enhances the pressure-bearing capability of the internal components. The use of tungsten carbide materials provides a reliable solution for erosive applications.

• Simple Assembly & Easy Maintenance: Tightening the retaining ring does not require additional orientation, clamping, or repeated plug alignment, resulting in more accurate adjustment and simpler assembly.
