The Fisher™ DST-G Trim is an engineered valve trim solution designed specifically for demanding applications where dissolved gases are released from solution due to a pressure drop, a process known as gassing . This condition often leads to two types of damage: cavitation and fluid stream erosion .
Similar to the standard DST trim, the DST-G trim employs a staged pressure drop to effectively prevent cavitation . Furthermore, it controls erosion through its lower cage, which divides the fluid stream into smaller, lower-energy jets that are less likely to cause damage . A key advantage of this trim is its ability to handle dirty services, allowing the passage of solids with diameters up to 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) .
