The SMC AR□K-D Series is a specialized modular pressure regulator that integrates a check valve (backflow prevention function). Its primary purpose is to maintain a set secondary pressure in a downstream circuit even when the upstream supply pressure drops or is shut off, preventing the reverse flow of air.
This is achieved through an internal check valve mechanism. When the upstream supply pressure falls below the regulated downstream pressure, the check valve automatically closes, locking the air in the downstream side. This function is critical for maintaining the position of cylinders or the clamping force of fixtures during an emergency stop, power outage, or when switching air sources, preventing workpiece drop or process failure.
As part of SMC’s modular D-series, it features the same compact block design, push-to-lock pressure adjustment knob, and 360° rotatable gauge as the standard AR-D regulator, allowing for direct interchangeability and system integration.
